Could this affect the Note 10 & 10+ series?
I have the factory installed screen protector on. I also have WSD screen protector which I haven't used. I was waiting until the original gets messed up.

I saw it in the news today. Some are speculating the thumbprint was on the glass and with the screen protector over the glass the residual fingerprint may be getting pressed onto the sensor. Samsung appear to be looking into this so we shall need to wait to see what transpires. It is certainly a potential safety breach so for now I have reverted to a PIN

The original article is from The Sun. That publication is pretty much the UK's version of the National Enquirer. It's a tabloid and is not known for reliable, or even factual, reporting.

I would, but only if I can't get a hold of a copy of the National Enquirer.

you would think a flaw like that would make all the major tech sites news. since it did not, imo,it is nothing to worry about.

I doubt it would affect the Note series, seeing how most complaints are how their FPS with a screen protector doesnt work, lmao.

I'm fine with my WSD glass and Note10+. It works. Maybe not instantly like most say it does or should, and maybe not even 100% every time, but I really don't feel it's that big if a concern, as long as its keeping others out as it's supposed to.

Hopefully resolved soon - I've been eyeing the Note 10+.

BBC, Forbes, and Reuters are all using the same primary source; The Sun, which is a tabloid and is about as reliable as the National Enquirer.

As anybody actually tried it with a Note 10/10+?

I just tried it and it DIDN'T work. I could not unlock my phone using an "untrained" finger and a clear case. I couldn't even do it with a plastic bag.

Samsung issued a statement that the issue is caused by the inherent qualities of silicone. They will be putting out an update to fix this before too long.

I'm not going to comb over news articles and posts for this ingenious piece of advice.

Has it occurred to anyone affected to just delete their Fingerprints and set a PIN instead?? At least until a patch is pushed out..

    You're welcome!
