How do I override autocorrect for individual words on Galaxy Note 4

I just got a Galaxy Note 4, coming from an iPhone 5, I like autocorrect but often have to change something its corrected, this was never an issue with the iphone but when I try it on my device is just constantly changes it back. Example, I try typing mins and it corrects to mind, but when I try to change it back to mins it just constantly changes it back to mind. I can find how to turn off autocorrect completely, but not to how to override these individual changes. How do I just override a single correction that autocorrect has made?

Not sure if you're using the stock keyboard or a third party one, but usually you can long press on the word you've typed and add it to your dictionary. If you ARE using the stock keyboard, you may also want to tryout something like Swiftkey that has extremely smart word prediction and lots of customability.
