Yeah I brought direct from EE on pay as you go and is sim locked to them. I've since had it unlocked by them to except any sim. But am guessing that as it was original purchased from them I have to wait for the to release a lollipop update as my csc code is EVR which is EE.

Yes unfortunately that is the case. Not originally sim free so your update is going to be by EE I do not think that it will be much longer though.

Well overall pretty good Battery seems to be dropping fast a ram usage seems to be higher than on KK.
No lag issues, so seems a pretty stable update I am not that impressed with the lock screen with regards to the size of the clock and weather, also it is not showing additional information? Although when I check the settings time and weather are set to large (although they are small and pushed up into the top left hand corner) and my owner information that was originally my name is not showing at all? Also I use antivirus on my phone and that is constantly showing on my lock screen Any suggestions?
    UPDATE**********

yeah my bad, issue resolved by going to Sounds and Notifications (of all places) scroll down to Notification, then to "While Locked" and customise from there

Hi everyone, I hope those of you who finally got the update from Samsung are all up and running smoothly

just wanted to update on my findings so far, okay initially I thought battery life was looking bad, however it actually seems pretty good i have been using the Gear VR with it for the last hour and it has only used 20% Battery and that is very GOOD! RAM usage seems to be dropping down to a more stable 1.79GB / 2.71GB....GREAT!
Earlier after updating it was running at 2.20GB / 2.71GB when idle, so that has settled nicely
Also I have noticed that my operator (EE) network is performing better, much stronger signal and I am able to update and do my banking on 3G and it seems more than acceptable. I have no complaints with regards to the lollipop look and the new animations and I have managed to find my way around all of the settings. So overall I am very happy with the update There was also an update earlier for android wear and now with the Lollipop update....no disconnecting and also the range has improved, so much better integration there also.
I will post back in another couple of days to give a further update if anyone is interested.

Hi got the update as well. What are the animations, I haven't seen any?

Also I charged the battery after the update and it took almost 10 to charge 1%. Turned the phone off (not restart) and that seemed to correct it.

Animations are very subtle in appearance, you will see them when you are on the phone keypad and on chrome. They are there I promise With regards to the very slow charging, did you clear the cache partition after you did the update?

Not sure if I like this Lollipop. My phone was just as fast if not faster on KitKat. Yes I did wipe cache partition and factory reset before and after the update. I have not reinstalled any apps yet but something is keeping it awake for some reason, had the same problem with the German firmware. I will give it a couple of days to "settle in" but if things don't improve I will most likely go back to KK as it worked perfectly, but it's just my opinion.

I've also flashed the btu version on to my ee phone. Like the improvements on lollipop but may go back to kitkat and wait for the official lollipop up date from ee.

It seems they've really improved the fingerprint scanner so that's a plus. Not sure that I like the changes to tabs in chrome but managed to change that back in the app settings.

Yes, I finally got the update on my sim free note too... what a wait!
One question, I've only played a wee bit to see what's changed and I don't 'think' I've knowingly changed anything but I've just noticed my keyboard has changed very slightly.... my smiley button has moved to the Sym page so now it's a two step process to get to it - not a huge problem but I use it a lot - any guesses what I've done? I also seem to be able to press a button on the keyboard and it makes it smaller... don't think it did that before either?

If you press and hold the microphone button (or whatever it may be assigned to) right next to the Sym key on the keyboard you can change it to always display smileys in texts and emails.

After a week on Lollipop I decided to go back to KitKat and stay there for the following reasons:
    1. My battery life is worse.
    2. My phone is slower, seems to stutter a lot more when scrolling through the settings.
    3. Signal strength is weaker.
    4. The whole UI looks too childish and cartoony IMO.
    5. Battery usage shows wifi connected when it isn't.
    and the list goes on.
I never thought I would say this but Lollipop is far from perfect and leaves a lot to be desired for and I will stay put until 5.1 is hopefully rolled out, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah I am not happy with Lollipop at all... Loved my phone before it but now it frustrates me constantly and the phone gets so hot.
WhatsApp just stalls and plays up all the time.. Keyboard doesn't appear at times and I get similar issues with other apps that weren't there before lollipop

I'm sorry for all the people having problems with Lollipop. I'm loving it and no issues I have found after a few weeks.

The only thing I would say, I would like the colour of the dialer app to be the same shade as the pull down menu.

Yes I am sorry for those that are experiencing problems. I did have numerous frustrating issues after updating and I lived with them for a week. Things did seem a little better but still not right, so I then did what we all hate doing... The factory reset!!!
Now everything has settled and all is working well and I am seeing genuine improvements although I have now got into the habit of clearing the cache partition about every couple of days.
No lag and battery life is very good.
So all in all I am pleased but I know when 5.1 arrives it is going to be great.
5.1 is already finding its way to the S6/S6 edge so I am hoping that we should see that around September.

I installed Lollipop last night. I'm on the 3 network. The installation went fine and the phone seems marginally faster than before but not a huge change. Was looking forward to the new camera controls but it doesn't look like my carrier has enabled any of the features from the new API. Really disappointed with that aspect. Since switching from WP to Android, the limitations of the camera was one the biggest downsides of the platform. Really hope a future update addresses this.
