Buying the Note 5 from T-Mobile for use with AT&T

As you probably know, the Note 5 is expected to be released this month. I want it rooted, so I'm trying to get a phone with an unlocked bootloader. I'm on AT&T, so to my knowledge I can pop in the SIM and use it.

So my question is, can I buy a Note 5 at T-Mobile and use it out of the box, or do I need to know anything else? Thanks.

(Btw correct me if I'm wrong about anything - I've always had an iPhone so I don't know everything about rooting and Android)

re:

The phone from T-Mobile would be locked. You'd have to get the phone and then get it unlocked by them.

If they'll sell it to you without a contract when it's a new phone. I tried to do that when the Note 3 came out and they wouldn't.

Re:

I would suggest checking out the international variant and seeing if it supports the US LTE bands on AT&T (likely not) but their HSDPA+ is still excellent. This way you get it unlocked and fast updates.
