installing black overlays/notification .apx on note 8(not rooted...on Oreo 8.0)

This is a newb question but...I installed a dark theme & also downloaded/installed black overlays/notifications .apx files for my note 8. I believe I did everything correctly but I read I need to "reboot" my phone for the black overlays/notifications to work. When I "reboot" do I want to select wipe/factory restore my phone or will a soft reset work?(there are 4 options when I hold volume/bixby/power buttons....which option do I want to select?...wipe is the 2nd option) I appreciate any help I can get, my apolgies for the newb question.

Well if yoy choose factory reset you'll be starting from scratch again no matter what.
Wipe cache is what you want to do I think
