Android Central Question

My Galaxy Note8 storage is full. How do I download my photos onto my laptop so I can clear them off my phone? I have my phone plugged into my laptop, and I CANNOT FIND the folder on the phone ANYWHERE that contains my photos.

Have you tried using a file explorer, even the stock Samsung my files app should work. They're usually under the DCIM folder, internal storage

Welcome to Android Central! When you plug the phone into your computer via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB notification there. Make sure MTP (or File Transfer) is selected. Then, on Windows Explorer, open the phone in the device list and look for /DCIM/Camera. The photos should be there.

I would also recommend taking advantage of Google Photos auto-backup: https://support.google.com/photos/answer/6193313?co=GENIE.Platform=Android&hl=en. After your photos are backed up, you can use the Free Up Space feature to automatically delete any locally stored photo that Google Photos knows is safely backed up to the cloud.
