Issue with auto-bright feature

I'm currently experiencing an issue with the auto dim/brightness feature where it isn't automatically allowing the screen to adjust itself based on lighting. This just started happening after I swapped out batteries. Anyone else experiencing this?

I use Velis Auto Brightness which works better than the Android automatic brightness. Try it. (It's free, and you can always uninstall it.)

Surprisingly it fixed itself after I pulled the battery and reset. Thanks for the tip I will download the app you're recommending as well.
