Yes, I understand. But eventually one does sign in with their Google and Samsung account right?Just opt out when it ask want install from back up or cloud and just sign into your Samsung and Google accounts.
That's what I'm saying , when you sign into your accounts it's not going to automatically download your previous back up unless you tell it too.Yes, I understand. But eventually one does sign in with their Google and Samsung account right?
Huh? When one factory resets the device. It asks for previous Google and Samsung accounts. Once you enter this information it restores data. That's what I'm saying , when you sign into your accounts it's not going to automatically download your previous back up unless you tell it too.
No it ask you first , you have to pay attention very carefully to uncheck those options in beginning.Huh? When one factory resets the device. It asks for previous Google and Samsung accounts. Once you enter this information it restores data.
Then once I go through the screens then what? I still have to at some point enter my Samsung or Google account details right? No it ask you first , you have to pay attention very carefully to uncheck those options in beginning.
Yes while you sign in it will ask you want to restore cloud , choose yes or no .Then once I go through the screens then what? I still have to at some point enter my Samsung or Google account details right?
I guess I don't understand what the enigma of a "clean install" really means.Yes while you sign in it will ask you want to restore cloud , choose yes or no .
Sorry your not understanding me , when I do next factory reset or flash a firmware I'll show you and document them so you understand.I guess I don't understand what the enigma of a "clean install" really means.

So effectively what you did was not a clean install. You seem to not understand that signing in does not restore your data. I just did that in my last factory reset last month. I factory reset, logged in to both Samsung and Google Accounts. Both times it asked if I wanted to restore, I said no, and no data was restored and signed in to both.

Samsung backup saves wallpaper, homescreen setup and few more which Google doesn'tQuestion : is there a material difference between restoring from Samsung cloud as opposed from Google? Seems both backup the same data. Not sure what is best though, specialy when it comes to the home screens layout.
Thanks for posting bro. I don't know why I get so confused with the Samsung backup, but I do lol. This what it can doView attachment 303318
In settings then accounts&backup you can sync everything at that moment or have it daily on schedule to sync , I would also keep Google back up on also , so when you factory reset it will ask log in to Google first and option for restore backup , then Samsung account log in ask do you want to restore from back up and put yes to both. You can always restore later if you want to install fresh just back in settings then accounts and back up and tap restore it give dates you last did backup and choose. Thanks for posting bro. Say I want to do a factory reset and then restore everything from a Samsung backup... What would be my first step before I do the factory reset to make sure everything is backed up? And then what would I do after the factory reset to restore everything?
Thank you!
