Any adverse effects of charging overnight with screen left

Lately I have been charging my S3 mini overnight while it sits on my bedside table and set to show the time and weather using a "clock" app. When the app is running, the screen does not turn off after sometime as it usually does during the day. Does this have any adverse effect on the lifespan of the battery or the screen?

Thanks!

I don't think it would. I've used my GS3 as an alarm clock every night (well, nearly every night) for well over a year and haven't noticed any adverse affects.

Just make sure your clock app that's does a screen rotate thing (where the image shifts, even if subtly) so it doesn't burn-in. I'm just using the stock clock, and the clock periodically shifts around the screen like a screensaver.
