Best Easy Way..Transfer files from S3 to PC by USB

I am begging for the easiest way to connect my Samsung S3 SGH-I747, buy USB to my PC Win7 so that I can transfer files. USB Device Not Recognized is the pop up I get. Please help me out. I have been at it for hours and hours.

Please give me step by step instructions or give me a link or a site that will.

Sigh - and if you must use USB, you'll have to get the correct drivers installed on your Win7 PC. As long as you have an Internet connection, Win7 should be smart enough to find the correct drivers on its own when you plug the phone in.
Make sure that you are using a data cable (it has all 5 pins) and not a charging cable (it only has 4 pins).
If you aren't having any luck, you can try installing the Kies software (just search for it on Google) - it should install everything you need.

Thanks, I've been trying a half a dozen sites and only you told me about the cable problem!
