I watched qbking77's video for doing a manual update to this latest official version with sprint. I thought I understood the video correctly as he states "if you plan to root in the future make sure to be rooted before performing the update because there is knox and rooting after might trigger the knox flag". To me this meant that I would have root after the update as long as I was rooted before it. However this does not appear to be the case and any other sources of rooting I can find that I'm not familiar with all say that rooting after trigger flash counter with knox. Which had me thinking wouldn't that happen if you wanted to return to the out of box 4.2.x version too? But that is a side thought to the what do I do now? because I want root on 4.3. And what do I do for my dad's S4 which has not been updated and is still on the previous 4.2.x to keep root with his and also have the update?
