Re: swype no longer autospaces

Welcome to Android Central! Does that happen everywhere, or only in certain situations (like when entering text into an entry field on a browser page)?

Re: swype no longer autospaces

I am having a similar issue. I just upgraded to 5.1.1 recently with my Galaxy S5 and I do have auto-spacing turned on. This happens everywhere that I attempt to type.

Before the update, after you swiped the last character of a word, you could let off the keyboard and immediately begin swiping the next word or choose an individual character.

After the update, after you swipe the last character of a word, the keyboard becomes temporarily unresponsive. All characters require two taps to appear. There is no haptic feedback on the first tap. Attempting to swipe a second word instead of choosing a specific character will only register the last letter of the word. "Hello there" appears as "Hello e", "What happened" appears as "What d", and "stupid thing" appears as "stupid g".
