I just got my S5 Verizon up to the latest update with root (OK3). As far as security goes, encrypting your phone is a good idea but when I go to do it, it says "Encrypting your phone cannot be reversed." Though I've seen via searching that some versions of Android have a "Remove Encryption" option, I'm guessing that this message is correct and that encryption of my phone and SD card will be a one-way operation. That means to remove encryption, I'd have to reset to factory default.

What will this mean for the next update to come out when I want to upgrade and keep root? Will I have to reset to factory default and then flash the next update? Is it even safe to encrypt my device after what I've done? I used the FlashFire method to upgrade and keep root.

Hey Tom, I am not sure regarding your Encryption question.

I have been trying to root my Verizon S5 for a week or so now and have not had any success.

It would be wonderful if you could direct me as to the procedure and software that worked for you.

I have used the guide providedBy jrkruse, in another forum.

    Your help is much appreciated.
