How can I root a Galaxy S5 version G900A

A

AC Question

My mom got an S5 for a friend and was surprised to find that it only had a few languages available. The friend needs Russian and I added Russian to the input languages but the menus, etc are still all on English and there are no options to download or add more languages. (it has like 8 available, none of which are relevant to our needs) Which way do you guys recommend doing it? My understnding is that I need to root it but I'm having difficulty finding roots for the G900A that have posts claiming success.

I am afraid that the AT&T model, G900A, has been made unrootable by the carrier. Unlike the international models of Galaxy S5, the AT&T carrier model has a limited range of built-in language packs and cannot be altered for overall phone usage, merely the keyboard with 3rd party apps.
