Why are you choosing Galaxy S5?

Just curious.

I am a Galaxy S4 owner , It makes sense to skip this generation because GS4 is already decent enough.

Lately , I have seen lot of hate towards GS5 , So I just want to ask why are you choosing GS5 ?

Why are you choosing Galaxy S5 ?

If you have an S4 than it may make sense to skip the 5. I think those that have the S3 may find it a notable and worthwhile upgrade. Many folks are on a 2-year cycle anyway so if they have an S4 they'd be skipping this generation.

2. I have an s3 now and even though i have only had it a year and a half i want something new

And then there's the often overlooked 4K video capability. 4K in your pocket is pretty appealing to me. If you've seen the 4K Note 3 videos, you know what I mean.

I have an S4 and there are 2 main reasons why I am choosing the S5

1. S4 battery aint all great...the S5 is supposedly supposed to have better battery
2. Camera features (I love taking pics and the S5 options are great for me)

But the also bonuses of the S5 also attract me
- Water Resistant
- Fingerprint Scanner

I've decided to skip the S5 and wait on the iphone 6 (if larger screen) and/or Note4, this "new" phone every year can get a little expensive and time consuming, but with the Edge program, it makes it better

Well my S4 gets about 3 hrs on stock battery....I have an extended battery now though

I would wait for the Note 4 but that is quite a while away and I have sold my S4 and am using a Galaxy Nexus at the moment so I don't think I could make it all the way up to the iPhone 6 / Note 4 announcement. I mean if it was releasing in June, it wouldn't be a problem.

For me it's the improved camera for sure...The snapdragon 801 speed..bigger screen and that download booster that nobody is really talking bout, which could be a game changer

I am buying a spanking new Galaxy S5 for the new features and the camera (the dust and water resistant add-on is nice too).

Also, the back cover is a big improvement over the Galaxy S4 horrible cheap plastic.

Camera is the selling point for me. Tired of the crappy camera(in my opinion) on the Note 3.

For me, the reasons for getting GS5 are

1. Camera: I like fast phase detection auto-focus, ISOcell sensor for low light. Sample shots from preview units look impressive as well.
2. Screen: Best brightness of AMOLED screens. They claimed 500 nits which is on par with IPS/LCD. AMOLED was never this bright before. better color gamut accuracy and adaptive auto contrast feature is plus too.
3. Battery life: Looks like this will outlast any previous generation GS series phone let alone ultra-power saving feature.
4. Cleaner, lighter Touchwiz: I didn't expect much on this. But previews show it's toned down, got simpler and snappier than older TW.

Overall I think it's great upgrade from my super laggy Razr HD.

I have an S3 on T-Mobile. March 26th I am out of contract. I was dead set on the LG G2 because I kind of like the rear middle button from playing with it and the OIS on the camera should work well. Then of course I started doing more research and seeing that about 5 new phones are coming out in the next 2-5 months. (iPhone 6, HTC M8, LG G3, S5, Sony Z2.)

All that being said, I keep coming back to the S5 for the Camera. The 0.3 focus and the 1/2.5 camera sensor size specifically. No one really talks about sensor size and it is just as important if not more important than pixels. (See here - Camera sensor size: Why does it matter and exactly how big are they?) Most other phones this size have 1/3.06 sensors. (I know Z2 is 1/2.3 but it is just not for me)

I will probably go ahead and get the Samsung in April and get on the Jump plan with T-mobile and debate 6 months later about the other phones already out. The LG G3 rumors are most tempting if they get the camera a little faster and a bigger sensor.

Main reason for me getting the S5...

*My S4 is almost a year old and I want something new
*Better camera and video
*Better battery life
*The security feature kid mode and private mode
* Connectivity LTE and Wifi combo for faster download speed
