won't play saved ringtones

I have a Samsung GS5 with T-Mobile. I used the app Music Download Paradise Pro (the clerk at the store put on my phone) to download songs & then used the app MP3 Cutter & Ringtone Maker (also loaded at the store), edited the song and saved to the ringtone file. I used these files & saved them to individual contacts & they worked just fine, and some of the ones I did are still working great. Now when I save a ringtone to a contact is keeps going to the default ringtone, even though it shows the saved ringtone is in the contact. I am a new user to a smart phone and not very computer savvy either. Any help would be most appreciated.
