Sim unlock page not showing up

I'm having this problem where when I put in a unsupported Sim card in my T-Mobile galaxy s5 the option to put in a code to unlock it doesn't show up. I know my phone isn't unlocked because when I put in the metro PCs Sim card from my brothers phone and I try to make a call it says not regostered on network. Please help thank you. By the way I want the Sim unlock page to show up because I'm going to buy it online. You should also take note that my phone is rooted and running a custom ROM.

Try dialing (on the phone dialer) #7465625*638*#

It should bring up the "input unlock" window on any Samsung made after 2010.

Verizon gave me a message, "Call cannot be completed as dialed"

This didn't work for me. It just said no mobile network was available. Any other suggestions?

For me it was a bad SIM. Tried another SIM and unlock worked.
