How do I get my s5 unlocked when I don't know my alternate password

I messed up on my thumb print to many times and am now locked out of my s5. I do not know my alternate password. Is there a way I can get it unlocked myself.

Not 100%, but doesn't the fingerprint option unlock again after a while?

If you install from the play store "Android device manager", then sign into the Android device manager on the computer, you can lock the phone with a new password then wham bam you are in. I've done this so I know it works.
