Direct Dial Widget Not Sticking

When I try to stick the Direct Dial Widget to a HS it does not stick.
I have to go back to Widgets everytime I add a new DD contact.

I have had this problem with other widgets but there is usually
a certain order to make them stick.

I just found something, don't know if this will work better.

Are you on lollipop?

I just went to a contact, tapped the 3 dots at the top of a specific contact and there was an option listed to make a shortcut on the home screen. Maybe that would work better for you.

I finally got my shortcuts in place although it took awhile.

I tried what you suggested and it does put a shortcut on the home screen.
The difference is that with the ones the widget puts there are one touch
and the way you suggested doesn't.

Yeah the widget has 3, contact, for two touch text or call and one touch for text or dial.
