Android Upgrading

My phone said yesterday that it was upgrading when I took it out of my pocket, I left it alone for about an hour and it still sat at that. I found how to reboot it by holding down the Power button and Vol Down button. Tried to choose Reboot and it still went back to Android Upgrading. Left it that way for a little longer and it didn't get any better. Did the key combo again and choose Factory Reset (which I did not want to do) and now it's been stuck at Erasing for over an hour. Guessing my phone is toast. I opened a case with Verizon and have to send it in wondered if anyone else had this happen and had any way for me to fix it.

I am guessing maybe I got pushed this update? Verizon pushing Android 5.1.1 and Stagefright fixes to Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Tab 4 10.1 | Android Central

but then again it was in my pocket and I didn't choose to upgrade it.

Any thoughts?

I have no idea, sorry. I'm still very patiently waiting for my verizon update. Best of luck to you, my friend. You know how stressful phone companies are to deal with.

I ended up opening a case with Samsung and the phone is on it's way to them :-(
