Galaxy s6 Battery draining 90% overnight!

My galaxy s6 battery goes from fully charged at night, then off the charger, and when I wake up in the morning it is at 10%! I have google location history turned off, I only have it set to sync my email, contacts, google drive, and photos. I noticed it always says it is syncing my photos even though I have it set to only do so while charging. I deleted the google photos app to see if that might help. I have screenshots of the graph and battery usage. If I figure out how to upload pictures I will. Does anyone else have this problem and how can it be fixed?

Go to settings, accounts and check all accounts listed there for any sync errors. You can also disable sync for things you don't use like docs, fit, sheets, music etc.

I already have sync turned off for most things, I'm not sure if sync was actually the problem or not. Guess I'll see in the morning. I'm having another problem now though. I am not getting notifications for things like twitter direct messages or emails when I am on 4G lte but I get them when I am on wifi. I don't have anything set to restricted in my data usage settings and these notifications used to happen, today was the first day I noticed they didn't pop up until I got home.

And another problem I noticed today is when im not on wifi it will most of time not let me use the Youtube app, it says something like an error has occurred.

Your cell standby seems pretty high (you'd have to tap on the graph, then screenshot the next page, including the lines at the bottom, and post that for us to tell) - that would mean a weak cell signal and a lot of battery drain.

Turn on your power saving mode - all it does is slow the phone down a bit (saving power) - if you need the speed, turn it off.

And try to not bring the battery down below 40% - bringing it down to 10% constantly will kill the battery in less than a year.

Alright, I turned on power saving, When I touch the graph it doesn't bring me to another page. It usually doesn't get that low which is why I was concerned.

Try force closing gpsd, I'd also clean the cache partition then reboot the phone. If that doesn't work try running it in safe mode overnight that way you'll know if it's an app you installed causing the trouble.

I just cleared my cache partition. I will let you know if I notice a difference.

I'm so glad to see that it's not just me. The battery has never been great, however it's abominable now. I can sit and look at the phone, and without even performing any actions, watch the meter drop by 1% every 5-7 minutes. If it's at 100% charge when I go to sleep, it is at 3% by the time I wake up 7 hours later. I looked at battery usage and it says that MAPS are using 70% battery, however I don't navigate while sleeping (well, maybe I do but not using my phone LOL), and I have even turned off location services, but nothing has helped. In addition, the phone is getting very hot lately. I have a Rogers 128GB S6.

Wow thats crazy, I would do what that other guy said and force stop location services and GPS and all that through the applications thing in settings.

Do you have android Marshmallow? I have an AT&T 64GB version and I still don't have the update, I'm not sure if that will help things or not.

Not sure who you are asking, however I am running Lollipop 5.1.1.

I had this happen a couple of years ago, and I noted that it happened only while at home and connected to my Wifi. I tracked further on the phone (a Samsung S4) and noted that it was trying repeatedly to sync my gallery pictures, but failing. I got thinking what had changed on my network, and recalled that I had just updated my Plex movie server software running on a Windows PC. I went into the Plex software and found that it was offering media sync services. I disabled that, and it cleared up the issue on my phone. Also once had a similar thing occur, but in that case my Wifi was being swamped. It turned out to be a Canon printer insisting to sync pictures from other devices. Even if you don't have Plex or a Canon printer, I'd suspect something like that. Does it only happen while connected to your home Wifi? Does it go away if you disconnect your phone from your Wifi?

That's interesting, I haven't paid much attention to it while its not on wifi but I'm pretty sure it drains a lot faster while on wifi. I will have to look into that when I get home. Thanks
