Do not disturb mode...disturbs

I have do not disturb mode set to come on during nighttime hours.
The only exception I have is for alarms.
I was awakened numerous times last night by my messaging app vibrating to alert me.
I've gone into settings/notifications/advanced and looked. Messaging is set to not override do not disturb.

Any ideas?

Look at SETTINGS/SOUNDS AND VIBRATION/DO NOT DISTURB. Ensure that you haven't inadvertently allowed an exception.

I just looked again. The only exception is for alarms.
I think I've figured out how to solve my issue though.
I get texts from my bank when there's activity. I like getting them, but I don't need to know a check cleared at 3am!
I set texts from the bank to not do notifications, that'll solve that anyway.
However I'd still like to know why do not disturb is disturbing

dnd should work fine with the stock sms app
