Why do I not get my texts anymore?

I used to get my text messages when I first bought this phone. Since then I had to "reset" my phone in order to get them again. Then a short while after that it started happening again. I've done this 3 times and each time I had the same results. I'd start getting them then later on ( how long is not known ) I wasn't getting them again. I only knew this was happening when a family member or friend would call me asking if I received their text. I am really disgusted at this point. This is the worse phone I've ever owned in over 10 years. Please someone help before I put it under a trucks tire.

Are you using the stock messaging app? Tried using Signal, Textra or others?

US carrier? Unlocked S8]/S8+?

Sometimes resetting networks works. Sorry the one issue has made it the worst phone you've ever owned.

Having the identical issue for the last several weeks - missing some texts completely, and others arrive exactly 12/24/48/72 hours late - as bizarre as anything I've experienced.

S8 on Sprint

I noticed today a person sent me a text and I received it 3 times. the other thing when using the Samsung texting app in a group message it would show sending and not go thru. I now use Google messenger and the only issue was today receiving triple texts from one person.

Have you thought nobody might not like you.
:p

it's not related to the iMessage isssue. I have problems receiving Android to Android messages. A temporary work around is to download Ghostly. It's picking up all my missed messages, as advertised.

I'm having the same issue using Android Messages on my at&t S8. Switching to Samsung stock messenger doesn't help. My wife is also now having the same issue on her S7 Edge. It's random, some message will work, others won't.

I didn't realize it, but I'm having this issue as well. Asked my wife why she hasn't responded to my texts and she showed me she never received my text and vise versa.

I found this topic because I'm having an issue receiving texts from my Dad only in the Android messages app. He just bought a Galaxy S8 last week and I got the LG V30 last weekend. He can receive my texts from Android messages but I can't receive his though that app. In the stock LG messaging app and in Textra I can. Could this be related to the same issue discussed in this topic? He's the only one I'm having trouble with so it feels like it would be good phone but I'm not sure.

I had the issue to... After I realized it, I deleted Android Messages and the issue stopped. I don't know why this is happening, but it might have something to do with advanced messaging and it not being optimized for other text messaging apps.

I still have the app on my phone is just not default. I want to use Android messages. Textra is nice but I just prefer AM.

What is advanced messaging?

Check and see if your messaging app is under the always sleeping apps under the battery settings. I was having the same problem. I deleted from there now I receive all my messages. I am using Google messages app.

Could sleeping app also be called power saving exclusions? I made Android messages an exclusion. Waiting to see if it works.
