Why does my Tab 3 turn off after charge?

Tab 3 turns off after charge

My Tab 3 out of the blue, after it has 100% charge it shuts off.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean that after you unplug it, it powers off unexpectedly? After you power back on, is the battery level suddenly low again? I'd suspect a failing battery.

I plug it to the charger and leave it charging still powered on. When I come to get it it has shut down on its own and the charge is at 100%. I am so confused it just started doing this

But can you turn the tablet on? If not, I'd be concerned about a failed battery.

Yes I can turn it on and use it as normal. I am just wondering what is causing that to happen out of now where.

Is the battery draining particularly quickly?

Not really it drains normal as it always does. Last night I tested by not leaving it plugged to the charger. Just on sleep mode and this morning it had powered off completely.

Does it ever shut off by itself when you're using it? If so, I'd wonder about some problem with the Power button.

No it does not shut off when I am using it.

See if it happens in Safe Mode. If it doesn't, then a 3rd party app might be causing it somehow. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9945

The battery will normally shut down after a set time you select in settings. It normally turns ON when connected to a charger but will cut off again at the time limit! You can set some devices to stay On while charging and it will remain ON the entire time it is connected to a charger.
