I have a Samsung Gear 2 Neo connected to my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and recently noticed that in the notifications trays that I see a notification stating: Android Wear Connecting ...

I don't have an Android Wear watch and I don't know why my phone thinks I do. The notification will not go away unless I reboot my phone, but it eventually comes back.

Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to resolve it?

I'm getting the same thing on my nexus 4 and I don't own a smartwatch of any sort.

It's quite irritating, as it's linked to Google play services it can't be force closed... The only way to make it (temporarily) go away seems to be a reboot...

EDIT: Installing and then uninstalling the android wear app gets rid of the notification, now it's a waiting game to see if it's gone for good!

Thanks Fuzzy,

I did the install of the Android Wear app this morning and then uninstalled it, so far no Android Wear Connecting notification. Hopefully this works, I will know more in the morning, that is when I first notice the notification.

It's back.

The install and uninstall of Android Wear did not fix the problem.

The good thing is that it does not seem to affect battery life.

I tried clearing cache for Google Play Store and Services and that did not seem to help. This morning the notification is gone, hopefully for good.

This is how I fixed mine.

- Loaded Android Wear app
- Attempted to 'connect' to the emulator (its in the drop down menu)
- this shows a connecting status in the app
- tapped the little watch icon in the app
- this then shows a disconnected status

Notification was gone.
