Can I use my Samsung Gear S to make calls if it is out of range (bluetooth) of my Note 4?

I have a separate SIM card (different number) in my Gear S. It is linked via the Service Provider to the SIM in my Note 4.

If I'm in range of my Note 4 I can make and answer calls on my Gear S. As soon as I move out of the Bluetooth range or I leave my phone at home and go out, I am unable to make calls on my Gear S.
Should I be able to make calls? or is this not possible?

:)

You should be able to make and receive calls. Make sure your mobile setting is set to auto switch. Once out of Bluetooth range a message will appear saying mobile will be turned on in one minute
