This is the message from the ATT site regarding Numbersynch:

There’s no additional cost beyond that of the wireless rate plans for your smartwatch and smartphone. Note that data rates, rather than messaging rates, apply when you use NumberSync to send and receive text messages.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Will they tack on a monthly $10.00 fee or is it plain free with no monthly charge?

If you activate the Gear S3 on AT&T, you will have a n additional $10 charge on your bill each month for the device to be on their network. Same as if you have a tablet on the network (I think - I have never connected my tablet via SIM card). Another example is if you activate LTE data sharing hotspot on a GM vihicle with On Star -- you pay an additional $10 monthly for the access. Any data you use for your Gear, your laptop, or the hotspot in your GM vehicle will count against your Data total on your account.
