Question about how to activate phone without wiping clean.

I recently purchased a Stratosphere II for my son. When I powered the phone on it began to take me through the activation process. I wanted to play with the phone a bit before activation so I used a technique to bypass the activation.

In the process of playing with the phone I loaded a number of apps and some music onto a microsd card that I installed.

I am at the point where I would like to activate the phone but I don't want to lose all the changes that I made. The only technique I have seen for activation involves doing a factory reset - which seems like it wipes the phone clean.

Is there some technique to get back to the activation wizard without having to lose all the changes that I made?
