Android Pie/Verizon Moto Z3 Play - SD Card shows "corrupt" when used for Portable Storage

Android Central Question

Just updated to Android Pie on my Verizon Moto Z3 Play today, using the OTA push. I have a 256GB Micro SD card in my phone, which I've always used as "portable storage" rather than having it formatted as internal storage. However, with the Pie update, my phone is only recognizing the SD Card when it's formatted for Internal Storage. When I have it formatted as "Portable Storage," it shows as corrupt.

This persists, even though I've purchased a brand new SD Card.

Try formatting the card on a PC before you mount it in the phone.

I've reformatted it using a PC. I still have the same issue.

I moved this from the Sony Xperia Z3 forum to the Moto Z3 Play forum.
