PLEASE HELP: How to break Nexus S 4G software?

Hello. I got my Nexus S the other week at Sprint. I am trying to keep my Nexus S 4G in mint condition so i can sell it once the nexus 3 comes out. However, I got a free scratches on the back and sand in the bezel. Also, i got a scratch on the front. Is there a way i can break the software and go to Sprint and tell them something happend so they cant fix it and I could get a new one. I made a mistakes and I really want a new one. I just ordered my case and screen protecters so it will be good. Can someone please tell me something or a problem to get a new one! Please .
