Help with sms

Hey everyone, this is my first android device and on sorry if this is a dumb question but I have to ask. I installed handcent SMS and love it. I set a shortcut on my homepage to a specific contact but when I clicked SMS I had remembrance decision checkedamd accidentally made the stock SMS my choice. How do i redo it so it autoloads handcent when i click SMS? Thanks for the help!

Not a dumb question at all.

Go into settings > applications > manage applications then click on the stock message app and press "clear defaults". This works with other applications as well (like launchers).

I ran into the same thing when I switched to Android. It stumped me for a while!
