Button at the bottom stay lit, even if powered off and unplugged!

Hey everyone!

I just got my HTC Amaze today, and had fallen in love....until tonight!
I have discovered that the four buttons at the bottom NEVER go off. Not even when I turn the phone off....or unplug it. I actually have to open it up and take out the battery!

I am thinking this is a defect? (I feel almost stupid asking that!)
I have tried a factory reset....nothing works.

I am so very sad. I bought this phone new off of Ebay and have requested the original receipt. I hope I can get it exchanged....

Also, I tried the Screen Filter App....not even it can shut these lights off. I mean, the light bleed is one thing, but this is craziness!

Any thoughts?

How about in a well-lit room? They should turn off in a lit room or outside. Do you have any screen protector installed? Do the lights go out when you touch the power button (turns off screen and puts it in standby)?

Oooh ... an eBay purchase. :-\ Sorry, hope you got it from an honest vendor.
