So far changing the Scene and the lock screen to AOSP seems to have done the trick.

not sure why, but just got a replacement thunderbolt. im trying to flash 7.6 but its freezing up in the middle of flashing. i am able to flash to a back up of 6.4 but cant flash 7.6. i also had this issue trying to do a clean install of 6.4 last nite

at least it appears to be frozen. says its installing system files, but the progress bar isnt moving

Awesome, looking to hear good news. I saw a couple of days ago, Santod changed his post to version 10.x but apologized he didn't have time to load and and wanted to be sure what he was loading was in good condition. That is great development there.

I'm looking to hear back how the new version runs. For the meantime, I cannot part from this working combo radio (posted for v6.4), will 10.x need same combo radio or a different one?

Let me ask you guys, if I were to flash 10.8 (if I could and had the time now) would this be an acceptable way:

1) make nandroid of current (6.4)
2) wipe all 3, 3 times each in recovery
3) flash 10.8
4) restore data only in recovery. This way all my settings, apps etc will be available after rom loads.
5) let rom load and settle


I'm assuming #4 can be done easily without having problems later on, when doing this from the same roms right?

I tried it for the first time when I went from bamf forever 1.10 over to NuSense 6.4, and I think because the one was GB and the other ICS with both having different Sense versions, it caused some spaghetti.. So I wiped all 3 again and for 3 times and simply flashed 6.4 nice and clean and manually went in and configured all my settings. I'm hoping that by going to the same rom all will transition smoothly when in recovery >advanced>restore data only.

Any other tips/methods/suggestions appreciated.

the only way ive ever flashed any rom was through rom manager and letting it clear data/cache and dalvik cache. nevr had an issue. thats not to mean i couldnt ever have one, but no problems yet

In recovery, has anyone restored data only from the advanced section

It is pretty neat as let's say you go from one rom to the next, you can restore the data only, from recovery, so that when you load your newly flashed rom, all your icons will be in place on home screens, and all apps (I think only 3rd party) will be loaded too, no need to TiBu. All will be loaded when the rom loads.


In short, make a nandroid of current rom that will be replaced, you clear all 3, flash the new rom, then while still in recovery, in advanced, restore data > from any nandroid you have saved.

UPDATE: I noticed that after flashing your new rom, let it fully load, skip any account settings (not needed), go back into recovery, then select Backup&Restore>Advanced Restore> then choose the nandroid that you want to copy the data from........ and walla! when all is done, your new rom will load, with all your data from the previous rom, all accounts, your background/wallpaper, widgets and their placements, apps and thier placements on homescreens, alarm clocks etc!
