1000$ phone - no security updates

Samsung has incorporated their own BlueBorne fix in last month's AQI5 update (even though AQI5 only has the August 1 Android patch level, not the September patch that also fixes BlueBorne).

You can verify your phone's BlueBorne protection via this app from Armis, the security lab that discovered BlueBorne:

I'm with Verizon and they have an update for blueborne for the note 8.

Here's a pic showing my update I have available with Verizon

Coming from the Pixel, security updates are so overrated. Plus doesn't Samsung at least keep Knox updated?
They do indeed. It updates itself in the backgrounds.

I don't get what all this hype is about Security Updates.

If Security Updates are the only thing 1 cares about then they should buy Pixel or Nexus phones.

Some people value security -- others might not as much. In your case it sounds like you don't value it as much. I am on the other side where I do mind. I want things patched and fixed in a timely manner :).

I agree. I'm reasonably content, though, that September's AQI5 update did fix the BlueBorne vulnerability, even though AQI5 only has the August 1 security level. They did address the most important September issue, so I'm willing to give them another month to bring us up to the October patch. (That month is now expiring, however.)

security updates

What has happened to the security updates. I'm on T-Mobile and have not gotten any for the note 8. When I had the s8 I would get them monthly. I expect updates when I pay 1k for a phone. Has anyone gotten any updates for thier phone

I luv my note 8... But for a $1000 phone August 1 security updates is totally unacceptable

My last security update is August 1... Come on Samsung you can make all the commercials you want knocking ios but you fail big time in this area. I know there's not we can do... I'm just saying... How do you feel? And any ideas?

 Yeah! is unacceptable the delay of these called "Security updates"
but lot of users have started to report - The arrival of this expected

update, so we'll be able to installed soon. I agree that iOS is
more efficient, when it comes to deliver iPhone updates

What is Samsung's commitment?

They say that they will provide the updates, but not how often or how late. Typically they provide the update approximately 4 to 8 weeks behind schedule, IE the October update is issued between November week 2 and December week 1. Occasionally they do beat that but it's not often. It's also well known that the international unlocked is one of the slowest devices to receive updates, and in some cases it receives 1 update every 2 to 3 months.
