1000$ phone - no security updates

KNOX gets updated pretty regularly, right? So if the latest security update isn't on your phone, at least KNOX is updated, correct? Or does that even matter in the grand scheme of things?

Good question. I have to admit, I haven't really looked at Knox much. I will now though...

You have to pay more anf f grab the google hard ware in order to het the "cutting edge operating system updates/patches. My first generation pixel XL 128gb is already on the 8.0.1 release of oreo.

Strange how certain carriers get updates out quicker than unlocked versions purchased directly from Samsung

I have an unlocked Note 8 bought directly from Samsung. I know this sounds stupid but since I'm on AT&T, is there a way to lock my phone to AT&T if that means I would get more timely security patches? I knew this is crazy, but I actually thought buying an unlocked version would have been faster for security updates since Samsung can bypass the carriers.

Yeah, I unfortunately experienced the same with the S7 Edge. The unlocked version was worse with security updates. I honestly don't understand what Samsung is thinking. I switched back to T-Mobile.

I'm not mega concerned about the security updates but slightly pi.. ed off with Samsung at this stage, my international unlocked is on august patch still but my carrier version is on november patch plus whatever other updates it got, that is just poor from Samsung
