I realize that I have to root to be able to install the mod to enable this (which is maddening it wasn't included by LG).

I bought a phone off swappa, activated, tried to root and bricked within an hour. Didn't realize phone was on zv6 and the guide I was following provided the zv5 image. Luckily sprint is replacing the phone for me, probably helped that it was manufactured in may and they knew there were issues with the older phones.

Question is, how much of a difference does the 60fps make? Part of the reason I got this phone is for the superb photo and video quality. My first disappointment was 4k videos being limited to 5 mins, then 1080p 60fps not being available was even more disappointing.

If it makes a noticeable difference I'll root (with the right image file!) once I get the replacement phone. My concern is when MM comes out, or any further update for that matter, so I have to flash back to stock, update, then re root? Seems like such a pain if so, but video quality is very important to me so i'll deal.

60fps looks ultra smooth to me, almost to real in a way. It's hard to describe, but it's nice for action shots if you have good lighting. I think the biggest difference is you're used to a certain amount of motion blur with 30fps, which goes away or at least reduced at 60. I can live without it, but there is a noticeable difference to me.
