120hz or 60hz for S20+ battery life?

I'm sure they'll send an update to enable 120 at full QuadHD. I mean the competitors give the user the choice to kill their battery if they choose so they won't be able to deny the option. I mean look at the OnePlus... using Samsung's own panel and they have 120 hz at full rez.

Just the fact that you can't watch true 4k video content. or anything high-res because you are forced to 1080p really sucks. I love watching 4k videos too much to give up the high resolution - the beautiful screen is a major reason why I love the galaxy series so much. I wish they would come out with some auto-mode, where the high resolution is automatically enabled when viewing high-res content.

Well, I guess probably not?

I'm on the move at work , would have to leave phone somewhere, it would probably get stolen , not willing to do that , like I said before carrying around and having to charge my power bank every night along with my phone, watch and Galaxy buds is an inconvenience I want to eliminate specially after paying $1,600 for this phone

Have you looked at any of the battery pack phone cases?

I'm struggling to see much of any difference between 1080 and 1440 on web pages or YouTube. Is it my eyes or does it only become noticeable on higher resolution movies?

I can't see any difference between 1080 and 4k even on big screen tv.
There's a major difference on a big screen. In fact Hollywood used to get away with cheaper plastic props instead of wood until 4K. Actors hate it because you can see all their blemishes.

I've been using 120Hz from the get go. Everything transitions supremely smooth. If I'm running low on battery and can't get to a charger, I do have the option to drop down to 60hz and enable power save mode. So unless I drop below 25% and can't get to a charger, I am staying at 120Hz.

I never thought about lowering to 60 when the battery gets low. I think people get the 120 confused with smoothness over speed. I use 120 for smooth scrolling, I like not having that choppy, jitter scrolling. Don't worry, when the note 20 has it, 120 will be the greatest feature available, except the rumors don't show that the battery will be increased to offset the extra battery usage which I'm not sure that's a big issue anyway.

On a Galaxy S20+ using Exynos, the battery test pulls 9.06 hours in 60Hz mode, but 7.28 hours in 120Hz mode. It's a little odd that the extra 500 mAh in the S20 Ultra doesn't offer more than 0.10 hours compared to the S20+. No wonder fans are petitioning Samsung to stop using those chips

That's what's strange, people want fast, people want smooth scrolling, they want big capacity batteries in small phones, they want fast processors, they want fast data, and when they start trying to give us that then we complain that it takes battery power to run this stuff. Phones and what they can do and batteries have come a long ways. I can get 7 hours of screen on time regularly on my ultra with the 120, I really don't think I can complain about that. Even if I could get 9 hours using 60, which I doubt I could, I'll still use the 120.

Let's break it down.. For average working person..24 hour day, 8 for sleeping, 8 for full time job, that means using my on screen time I would have to be using the phone 7 hours of my 8 hours remaining off time. I know those numbers aren't for everyone, just showing that what I get, u would almost have to be using the phone 100% of my off time to kill the battery. Maybe it's just me, but that impresses me for what the phones do now days.

I get longer usage time using the ultra, witch I should with the bigger battery, my point is even with the 120 being used I'm still getting longer battery time since Samsung gave bigger batteries to help compensate for that. From what the rumors are saying, the note 20 might not be getting much bigger batteries for that. I can't keep up with all the rumors, but last I seen the note 20 was rumored to get minimal bigger batteries then the note 10 series, if true that might not be good deal if you like the 120. With that said, everyone complained the s20 series was to expensive, rumor is the note 20 will be a little cheaper. Cheaper usually comes at a price. Time will tell, I'm thinking about getting a note 20, but if the specs go down to much I'll probably pass.

I think one of the Note 20 rumours was the screen was more efficient. We will see.
