120hz refresh question.

I have started seeing post on reddit about the iPhone 13 120hz refresh rate being disabled for animations in 3rd party apps. That animations are stuck at 60hz.

I am guessing that the refresh rate on the s21 series has no limitations like this. I have never noticed anything like what they are saying over there on my s21.

Is it safe to say that there are no app restrictions on android for utilizing the full 120hz refresh rate?

Not sure on the iPhone but 120hz is adaptive on Samsung

Just picked up the 13 pro and the new refresh rate is very nice but not as nice as it is on my S21 5G.

It sounds like it's a bit buggy at the moment. Or apple planned to release it that way and got called out right away.

Probably has to do with the crazy battery life the pros have.

I wonder if the variable refresh rate is capped depending on the currently process on the iPhone. When scrolling the phone and menus it's caped at a lower refresh. But when consuming media like a game or movie it goes to full 120hz. Could be part of the reason that thing has an insane battery life.

I am sure there will be some fixes and tweaks to adjust that in the future. Makes me wonder about my iPad pro with the 120hz pro motion now haha.

Yeah I'm sure things will be updated in future software updates and devs working on it , but want see this revisted in few months . I got the blue 128gb 13pro for my wife birthday present , beautiful color. I have the 12pro so no 120hz panel .

I'm holding out till the 14, I hope they ditch the notch on that. I use to not mind it, but after using the s21 it's kind of an eye sore to me now.

Plus the pixel 6 maybe has me more intrigued and the s22 is probably going to be a crazy solid device as well.

Yeah looking forward to iphone 14, pixel 6 for sure and will see how the s22 unfolds .
