I see that the default megapixal is set to 9. What do use 13 or 9? Which do you think is better picture quality and why?

13 MP would give the best pictures... but 13MP is also HUGE when it comes to file size. So unless you need that level of detail... I wouldn't keep that as my default.

Actually 9 will be better for suck a small sensor size I don't know why people think more mp means better pictures.

13mp files are huge...those are for pics where you want to zoom in and crop

Theres a difference in the aspect ratio between the two as well. If you want full screen 16:9 then leave it at 9.

David I think you are confused here. There is a saying... and it's something I say as well that just because a certain device has more megapixels doesn't mean it will take better pictures than a different device that has less megapixels. This is because image size and image quality are two different things.

However this guy is asking something different. He has a specific phone and is trying to figure out a SETTING for that phone. Whether he chooses 13mp setting or 9 mp setting... IT'S THE SAME CAMERA SENSOR ON THE PHONE!!! So if you take a picture at 13MP and need to crop a portion of it... it will look better than the same photo taken at 9mp on the same phone.

That's why I said what I said in my initial post.
