1440p resolution gives better color?

So since I've owned my Galaxy S20 I've always ran it in the 120hz 1080p display mode.
I've been quite happy with it as the screen is so smooth.
But yesterday I was watching a S21 review and it got me thinking to try out 1440p display mode for giggles.

After switching to 1440p mode I immediately noticed how sharp everything became.
More interestingly though, I noticed (IMO) that the screen seemed to have more contrast. Colors punchier. Display almost seemed brighter overall.

Yeah the screen isnt as smooth but so far I'm really digging the more vibrant sharp display.

Is it just me or can anyone else notice something similar?

More pixels means more work in moving the display, so that's the "isn't as smooth". But the sharper colors are probably due to the fact that you're seeing more detail and sharper images.

I have always used my S20 in 1440p.....I consider a sharper, more vibrant display far more important than a smoother scrolling experience.
I'm not a gamer, maybe if I was I would feel differently.
