16GB only??

If this phone costs more than 199 with upgrade there would be no justifiable reason to purchase, it will just be an android iphone.

the whole point of an android is the ability to customize, add, remove, etc.

can't change the battery, can't expand the storage, , WTF?


I was going to get over the battery issue and didn't care about the non-expandable storage given that it had 32GB on board, but 16 is laughable, why bother with beats audio and a badass display if it can't hold anything?

I was pumped for this phone when I first read about it, now I can't figure why I'd waste an upgrade on it

Phone product pages on the internet tend to have alot of errors, especially preliminary oens put up. Say's it has a VGA front facing camera that does 720p...I don't know how that's even possible. All reports say a 1.3mp camera. I've also seen wild number differences for the thickness. That page says 8.9mm. The most common I've seen is 9.29mm. Others have said 9.7mm. I'm also not too sure about AWS band support. The spec sheets at MWC are more trustworthy.

If there is a 16GB version, I would get it, if its cheaper as well. HTC eBay phone prices are sky high.

Have you guys ever heard of Google Music? Combine that with Picasa and local storage is a thing of the past. Now I know that people are going to complain that you need a data connection of some sort to stream music, and then we'll hear complaints of data caps.... and then I just go back and read the threads about people bragging about how much data they use every month. Then I realize I hate people.

Working 100% for me. Google music has 65GB of my music saved, and I can access it all the time. Over HSPA or WiFi, I've never had an issue. I keep my photos on Picasa or Photobucket, and the Picasa photos just sync on all of my Android devices.

I'm willing to be that the majority of users (there are many millions remember) don't take up all the storage on their phone. For me, I just need space for Titanium Backup, ROM Manager, and any pics and videos I take. If I run out of space I don't swap SD cards, I just upload the pics and videos (which is done automatically now thanks to Google+), and then delete them. If I need to show them off I'll use the app.

The cloud is reliable enough for me to say it's going to be there when I need it. The bigger concern is a network outage.

I guess my biggest issue will be cost. If this phone is 199 or less (comparable to 16gb 4S), I will still very much consider it, but if this flagship phone rolls out at 299 HTC can kiss my a$s.

I don't understand how the creme de la creme flagship phone for one of the biggest mobile phone producers in the world will be neutered like this.

Still, if the price is right and the camera performs well, it looks like a pretty good option

I was playing around on HTC's site and found this about the 16 gb's - HTC One XL Product Overview - HTC Smartphones

It seems they've changed the specs to be the same for both the X and the XL now as the specs for one of them was 32 gb's. All the same I am a SD card junkie because I like to move my apps there. It's my only drawback for this phone besides not wanting to leave T-Mo for AT$T

My 16gb Galaxy Note has a whopping 10.58gb,s of space when i walked out of my local ATT
store after purchase. I figured around 13gb,s of free space after all the ATT bloatware.
But 5 or so gb,s? Jeez!

Can't hold all of my favorite hippo porn so i ordered a 16gb SDHC micro SD card.

4 GB always reserved for hTC software, meaning 3gb out the 4gb are for system and it's updates, this leaves you with 1gb for app storage, and the rest will be for the user.
