2.2 Froyo Update - Report & Find Solutions to Issues Here (post #1 & 2 updated 8/8)

Flash sites started crashing.. Now market telling me I need flash update. But no update found...WTH! HELP.. "The requested application cannot be found"

Update: Hard Reset fixed all my issues.. Should have just listened. Hard reset solves most problems. Thanks for the help.

Froyo Update 2.2 made Browser to crash.....

I have updated EVO to FROYO 2.2 update. (2.6.32.15).
The update worked fine and phone works fine, including new features.
But the Sprint Browser (Webkit 3.1) stopped working.
I get error:
The application Internet (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. (Force Close)

Tried many times over multiple days. No change. Anyway to fix this?

In the meantime I have installed Opera Mini Browser, which works fine.

I noticed that a few days ago. I had no problems when I was connected via WiFi. Then while out, I received that message or similar, don't recall exact text. Anyway, check /Settings/Wireless & networks/ make sure that "Mobile network" is checked.
I have not seen the error since.

You dont even sync with google?
for a quick and dirty backup idea. create a google account sync your phone.
do a hard reset then re-sync after the hard reset is complete. If you dont want to continue syncing with google then turn it off. If your paranoid, login to your google account and delete your contacts after you have synced them back to your phone.

just an idea. Personally, I would be lost without my google account.

Same here. The way I even got all my contacts on my EVO the day I bought it was by syncing with my Google account.

This should be REQUIRED READING for all EVO users. First, I am amazed by the speed with which the upgrade now runs my brand new [three weeks old] EVO. Second, I solved the few issues that I noted by rebooting and reinstalling my purchased applications. Now it runs all elements faster than a speeding bullet. Thank you so much for your guidance.

anybody else notice that sometimes your caller's Contact Name doesn't show up on the Caller ID when you're already on another call even if you have them in Contacts? this has happened a few times but not often.

Android Update - Another EVO issue?

I had to do a hard reset after downloading the update in order to retrieve all of my album art (it worked - thanks!!) ; I am now seeing that the weather app installed on the EVO no longer shows my city when it did before - I cannot even find it in a search - anyone else have this happen? Idea to fix it? Thanks!

You dont even sync with google?

I dont sync, not cause Im paranoid. I linked with facebook shortly after getting my Evo but hated that all my friends were then in my contacts. Lots of people I would never really talk to so I undid that and never have linked since. Dont know how to google. I have a gmail account dont know if that is what your talking about also each contact has a link to google not linked do I have to go into each contact and link it or can I apply to all. Tell me how and I will do it. I just hate to lose contacts thats all.

When I got my EVO I logged right into my gmail account and all my gmail contacts instantly populated my contacts on my phone.
Did you manually enter in all your current contacts?
Once you login to your gmail acct on your phone, you should be prompted as to how to sync or import contacts. I do not recall the exact options, since everything was already in my gmail acct.

you should have the option to merge with your gmail contacts. if you do not want to mix them, you could easily create a new empty gmail acct. and sync to that.

Log into your gmail account online and check your contacts.

Ok they all appear to be there now if I do a hard reset they sync google they will all be back in my phone? Anything else I should know before I reset?
