2.2 Froyo Update - Report & Find Solutions to Issues Here (post #1 & 2 updated 8/8)

I updated to froyo last week and been having problems with Pandora. I did the restore and re-added all my apps. The problem is when I'm listening to Pandora, the song will play for about a minute and then cut for about 30 seconds and skips to the next song. This is happening on every thing I listen to on Pandora. I did update the Pandora app to 1.4 yesterday, but that isn't fixing my problem. The audio quality is fine, it just skips. My phone is not rooted either. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Pat

Google has acknowledged problems with audio streaming from certain apps and they're working on a fix. http://www.androidcentral.com/fix-coming-froyo-audio-issues

I'm at work and they have Pandora locked out. And I live in Louisiana and I'm not even sure we have 1G yet. I actually had a small argument with a Sprint technical person who kept correcting me that I don't have 4G. He finally understood after a speed test.

im only experiencing two problems since i did the official update to 2.2 on the Evo...

1) when i rotate my phone to landscape mode, the screen rotates just fine. however, when i rotate back to the normal position, there's about a 4-6 second delay. is that normal since the update? am i the only one experiencing this?

2) my g-mail is fine. however, i have two different email account separate from g-mail. (ex. yahoo or hotmail) the emails that are getting sent to my hotmail are appearing in my yahoo. every time i try to delete those incorrecty received emails, they pop right back up. how do i fix this??

im running everything the stock way. no tasks killers or anything like that. so what's going on with my phone & how do i fix these problems??

Anyone figure out why the 4-6 second delay is occurring?

An interesting issue post update (leaked .3 ---> pojoman .6) is that whenever I power cycle my Evo, 4G is auto-enabled on power up. This happened immediately after the initial .3 leaked update and continued though the full pojoman .6 image and has persisted through two full factory resets. Turn 4G off, turn the phone off and when I would power the phone back on, 4G would turn on as well.

I was initially having noticeably poor battery life and this turned out to be why. 4G would auto-enable when the phone was powered on. The several seconds it would take to actually turn the 4G radio on was long enough that I initially didn't notice it, having glanced at the phone and put it into sleep mode before seeing any kind of 4G activity. Now that I remember to always manually turn 4G off (it stays off, thankfully), I have better battery life (by a long long way) than I ever even dreamed of having with 2.1.

Anyone else notice that 4G automatically turns on when the phone has been power cycled?

FIXED

Nevermind. Its still an issue, but its known and has a fix:

sorry, I have not experienced either of those issues. I just throwing some ideas out there.
is your Car dock set to Auto-Launch?
did you format your SD after hard reset. if not might try to copy your SD to you PC then format you SD and re-load your stuff.

thanks for the suggestions. i noticed that the car dock was set to auto-launch. i will try it with it unchecked. hope it works. also havent tried reformatting the sd card. that will be my next try after. will keep everyone posted.

Hi everyone, I have an evo and it was working great until i accepted the official ota update from sprint. I am very happy i found this forum as many of the problems being reported after the update are the same ones i am experiencing. My internet surfing used to be so fast but now its choppy full of lagg even after i change the flash setting to on demand. The message app becomes so slow and laggy during text message writing, the weather widget many times shows a no data message, sometimes when i unlock the phone or surf the web my screen flashes black for a second. I could keep going on but i feel in sprints attempt to be the first to push the OTA that they have also given us bugs that if maybe they took the time to fully test it maybe this wouldn't be happening. I was so excited with the anticipation of froyo on evo but this has been a big let down for me. Does anyone else feel the same way i do??

I got my replacement phone the other day. It was not loaded with 2.2. As you have read, when I upgraded with my first phone it turned it into a brick. Sprint store that replaced mine had a whole drawer full of replacements due to the update.

I got a refurb, not a new one. That bothers me. I should have just got the refund and bought a brand new one. No matter I guess.

I'm back in service with 2.1 and am not upgrading anytime soon.

My advice to all EVO users..... don't do the Froyo update. Way too risky.

Mike

Promlem with ac-rom 2.2 and 2.3 Exchange Server

I have no problem with Exchange server connection in 2.1,but with most of the 2.2+ versions I have had connection issues with it never even being able to be setup... any ideas?

I agree, they should have tested a bit better. But with most issues being corrected with a factory reset, the remaining issues are really minor. the question is who pushed the update, Sprint? HTC? or Android? I cant blame Android, since they do have a line of phones to alter, for manufacturers and providers.

I try to think of these things in the big picture.
IPhone is loosing ground now and quickly. Just imagine how AWSOME!!!! Android would be if they focused on only 1 Phone, an only 1 Provider.

In the grand scheme, I think the progression is moving along pretty well.

Sppkyalex, I am having the same issue. They told me its the phone so they are sending me a replacement. IDk you can try that? i Will let you know what happens when i get my new one.

Re: 2.2 Froyo Update - weather widget.

Having problem with HTC weather widget as well. Sometimes it just goes away and you have to re-check the "update automaticly" to get it to come back.

The only big problem I am having I can't charge my battery sometimes the led just blinks orange

Few new glitches i found. . . well to me atleast.
I was .3-.6 update. No problems in .3

- some app shortcuts or widgets would bug out and not respond or lock.
fix- had to remove the widgets or shortcuts and readd them.

- voicemail seems to be buggy for me. Will skip or stop and restart at times.
I havent found a fix for this yet or spent time on it because it only happened a few times now and not major to me.

After I updated to 2.2 froyo I'm having issues with flash. When I see a video or flash required field all I see is a little green arrow. When I click on it, it goes back to home screen each time? Please help me with anything you might have to fix this issue. Thanks.

Am I the only one that's having issues with the sense widgets? Every so often when I unlock the phone I notice the people, friendstream and bookmark widgets are blank and have to reload like when you first turn your phone on. Its really annoying...

The green arrow means that you have the "On Demand" setting enabled on your browser. Basically, your browser won't run the flash portion of a webpage until you click the arrow. As far as returning you to your home screen, I have no clue.

You can try clearing all the settings on your browser.

Open internet> Menu button > Settings> Privacy configuration

Clear all data for cookies, cache, history, form data

Then reset your device and see if you're able to get the flash portion of the site you're on.
