Hey guys I just wanted to see what you guys thought the chances were that the motorola droid would get 2.2 (froyo)

The chances are good that it gets it don't see much of a difference between the Droid and Droid2 but don't expect it soon. I would be the shadow will get it first

Wait for the update to be pushed to your phone who knows when it will be released I say around fathers day but MOTO and Verizon could drag it out to next year

2.2 looked really nice today, its too bad Droid will most likely never see it for most of us, as we will probably gone to a new phone before VZW ever gets it together to launch an update.

The Droid will see 2.2 very soon and seeing not much has to be layered on top of it fir the Droid which will make a quick process. The big hold up is Verizon but I can almost bet their testing it now

i can almost guarantee that it will be released for the droid in june. think of it this way, verizon wants to make sure it uses all of it weapons it has to avoid losing customers to the iphone on att. if they don't release it then it is 1 less advantage they have against att

Well I don't know about Jun with the Droid 2 close to release who knows if they will hold off and launch it with it soon after. That's all dependent on weather or not the shadow launches with it. If that does the Droid will have or be getting it

Google said q4 for gingerbread not froyo froyo is already testing I can bet and seeing people on hofo admitting that thrive used Droid builds of froyo I can bet it's going to carrier testing soon

Nexus will get it first. Motorola Droid will most likely get it 4th quarter. That's my thought.

Makes me want to buy the new iPhone. Seriously, at least with apple everyone gets the OS update and all the goodies day one. It's not as if people with a 3GS have to wait three months while the new iPhone people enjoy OS 4 goodness.

Yeah but the older iPhone won't get all the features of the new one. Just like the 3g didn't get video recording it will happen again with the 3gs it will lack something the hd will get just for you to go out and buy it. But the difference between Apple and Android is Google makes the OS they don't tell the companies when they need to have them running on their devices. I really hope MOTO doesn't take forever and they don't want months after the Droid 2 gets the update to release it for the Droid seeing the Droid 2 is only an update to ours basically running the same chipset and screen res maybe more mem
