The first problem i have been having is occasionally when i go to unlock my phone with fingerprint it wont let me. It will say "For your security biometrics can not be used please insert password." What could cause this?

My second problem is about once a month my phone fails to fully charge wirelessly. Ill start to charge it around 20-30% and it will stop around 50-60%. Is there somthing wrong with my phone hardware wise? After i reset it it will start to charge again for the next few weeks fine.

the first is a security measure. all Samsungs do that, maybe all Android I'm not sure.

the second I don't know. could be a fluke or just randomly not being set properly.

Yes, that's Android. I think some manufacturers change the frequency but the standard is after 72 hours or right after you reboot the phone.

This is not after a reboot or after 72 hours this is i put my phone in my pocket and look at it 5 minutes later and it says that i need to input my password.

There is a google + thread on this matter. It happens to me as well. It will randomly ask me for my PIN and it is not only after rebooting and definitely within 72 hours.

Never happened to me. May be try re-registering your finger prints.

In Oreo (and possibly Nougat), if the phone locks (the lockscreen comes on), you have to unlock it with the password or PIN. So the "random" element in questions like this usually turns out to be the time the phone was left alone. If it's ling enough to lock, you have to unlock it, if not, the fingerprint is enough. (The screen timeout and the lockscreen timeout are separate. The "unlock by password, PIN or pattern" situation only occurs after the lockscreen time [or when the phone is first turned on].))

That isn't what's happening either. Most of the time when I wake up in the morning I can use my fingerprint, but some mornings it asks for my PIN.
It's random.
For instance I was using my phone before I went to my sister's house. When I went to use it there it asked for my PIN.
It's not even a daily occurrence.

I too see this behavior randomly and infrequently. I suspect it's deliberate, serving two purposes: it fortifies the biometric authentication with the higher-security password authentication; and having to occasionally use your password makes you less likely to forget it.

I've had it occur 2 or 3 times in a day then not at all for a week it's odd. I was just wondering if there's a setting that I had enabled or if its just some weird software fluke.

I have started getting the random *enter pin* as well, it used to be only after scheduled restart every Saturday morning, it must be a security thing after last June security patch
