*228 do or don't

I think that's a myth. I tried it on Launch day about 10am with no issues. 'Cept that it doesn't work, of course.

I do believe some CSRs messed up SIMs on that first day, but not due to this.

not a myth. I had a problem with activation(long story it activated but under my parents # some how) launch day after i left the store. I called vzw after i realized something was wrong a tech told me to *228. first 2 times i called it it hung up, 3rd time it didnt and nothing seemed to happen. I called back and a diff tech told me I corrupted my sim card and it was now useless. got a new one and it activated right away( under my # :) ).

And we all know how knowledgeable those guys are! :) Or, were, on release day.

I had the Verizon Rep. go through 4 before he got my phone to work.LOL

Word on the street is that there was a longer than expected delay and reps kept replacing SIMS until activation completed. Just not yet familiar with LTE SIMS at that time.
