3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4

Helped coworker update, same approach as me. Stop GSF, clear data and battery pull. Update first try just like mine.

As you can see I am unable to Clear Data in The Google Systems Framework.
The data is stuck on computing. I have tried force stop, disable then enable, and even rebooting the phone.

How can I force the phone to compute that data?

Tried it over and over and over etc...... last night at home on wifi with no luck. Today when I got to work and on 4G it only took me one try and bingo. With 4.04 I have been using my phone as a wifi spot and the data has worked better then ever before!!!!

To all those who have tried this and had it work.. Are you having any trouble with apps in the play store or with push notifications?

Worked the first time for me, on wifi. Did the force stop, clear data, backed out and checked for update. Said it hadn't been checked since 1969, then the update appeared. Thanks to who ever came up with this.:)

Haven't tried downloading any new apps, getting my push notices just fine.

I heard a lot of people on Droid Life having issues with the Play Store after forcing the update so I'm curious too.

Nope. All is well. Got an update for Google Translate today.

I will say my notification light didn't seem to be working, but it may be because I set the lock screen to come on 10 minutes after I hit the power button to put the phone to sleep. It may need to lock for the light to come on.

Annoyingly, it seems that using this setting doesn't disable the volume rocker until the phone locks either.

Have yet to try this because I don't want to spend another 2 hours fixing potential problems that it may cause. Some have mentioned having issues with Google Play and apps not starting or updating correctly. That could be a nightmare with apps especially with apps like Swype. Anyone experience these types of issues? Tia
It didn't take me three hours. About 10 minutes from start to finish of the update install.

Not that I know of, after two days of nearly constant use.

Anyone know why this procedure seems to be working? Anyone know if this update is coming from Verizon, or if it is actually coming from Google servers since we are clearing data out of Google framework?

I had the same problem. I created a widget shortcut for Settings--Apps, and it worked the first time I opened it. Not sure WHY that worked, but it did.

This is funny/weird. Just as soon as I geared up to force/pull the update, I got the update pushed to my device...

Well, it's one helluva update. All the minor changes are whole lot more than the sum of the parts.
