3 Reasons why I would rather wait for Galaxy Gear 2

Current Gear cannot handle two Bluetooth pieces at the same time, meaning I can't talk on my bluetooth earpiece through my gear. Also I cannot listen to my music through the gear. Also, I can't access call waiting on the gear.

I get the second one i just don't understand why on the first one. As i type now I have my gear connected and my blutetooh stereo headphones connected and I can talk on my blutetooh headphones. That's good enough for me. Maybe I am just not understanding.

Samsung rep said the note 3 or main phone can only handle 1 bluetooth at a time, so it's either the bluetooth headset thru the main phone or the gear thru the main phone. Seems like you disagree? How so exactly?

To clear this up for you. I have the gear and a note 3. My note 3 can connect to my gear and also connect to my Bluetooth in my car (at the same time) . When I get a phone call, both my car and the Gear will ring. If I answer with my car, the call gets routed to the car. If I answer on the gear, then the call is routed to the Gear. I can also stream music to my car while the Gear is connected.

I also walk in the morning with bluetooth headset streaming my dishtv sound while my gear is connected and running runkeeper.....the runkeeper will break into the tv sound with the time and distance update in the headphones and then right back to the tv.

i also have my phone connected to the gear and my car at the same time, like the previous comment....

Same experience here with the car kit. I've also use a set of Bluetooth headphones for listening to music while the Gear was paired and connected. When a call came in I could answer it via the headphones via a pushbutton or on the Gear (music paused either way). It works fine.

Still don't get what you mean, "talk on headset through gear". It's connected to phone. Why would headset need to connect to gear? Just makes no sense why that matters and is something you need.

My point exactly the gear is an accessorie not a standalone device your gear is a speaker phone in all actuality if you think about it. Peoples expectation are way to far fetched for this device.

You might have talked to the same Samsung Rep that I went to with my brand new Note 3 and brand new Galaxy Gear and asked them to help me set them up. The Samsung Rep didn't know JACK!! .. I showed the Samsung Rep the Gear charging cradle and told them they would need this. They told me that cradle was only used for charging nothing else.. Said all that to say, what you heard from a Samsung Rep is far, far from gospel!!!

it's like anything else...sure you can wait, and wait and wait, cuz when the gear 2 comes out there will already be gear 3 rumors and "wish lists"....i'll enjoy my gear now and if the upgrade's that great then i'll enjoy the gear 2 later....waiting gets you no nothing but wasted time....

You guys are awesone and very kind with your replies. I guess I still need further clarification. When having your bluetooth headset on, do you just easily swipe to answer a call on the gear? I would just hate to pull out my note 3, and press extra button s to make the call happen. My point is, I don't want others to hear my convo thru the speaker of the gear, thus the need for bluetooth headset on gear. Also, how do you answer an incoming call when you are listening to music thru the bluetooth with the gear? Finally, how does call waiting work on the gear witnph bluetooth headset?

You just push the answer button on the headset and the call will get routed there. Same for call waiting... Just push the headset button again. No need to pull out the note.

What about others hearing your convo from your voice when you reply to the call?

Instead of pressing the button on the bluetooth headset, can you instead swipe on the screen of the gear to take the call or reject the call? Same for call waiting? As for using the bluetooth earpiece or headset with the gear, can you simply swipe on the gear to take the call or reject the call simultaneously while listening to the music? If you can really do these things without extra steps or to take out your note 3, then I may get the gear afterall!

if you answer on the phone the call is routed through the phone, if you answer on the gear the call is routed through the gear, if you answer with the headset the call is answered through the headset, if you answer on your car the call goes through your car speakers.....

Here's a youtube video related to my question on how to answer a call thru your earpiece with the gear. Other than clicking on your earpiece to accept calls, can you easily swipe "accept" on the gear, without the extra steps shown in this video?

no....if you answer on the gear it is routed through the gear unless you swap it to the headset with the menu option like in the video.....remember the gear assumes if you answer the phone call on it that you want to use it for the call. if you want the call on your headset why not look at the gear to see who is calling but then answer on the headset.....not sure why the gear should function any different than it does seems pretty clear cut and defined the way it is.

When a call comes in I can see the caller ID on the watch,, also the headphones stop the music and ring instead. To answer I just tap the button on the side of my headphones.
