If you prefer to unlock your phone from the front then an alternative option would be to use facial recognition to unlock your phone? i keep my phone propped up at work as well, i hit the bottom button and look at the phone and it unlocks. pretty nice, dont know why the reps for Samsung didnt mark this as a "key feature" in advertising, i didn't even know this was an option until after i bought the phone.

After having had it for nearly a month now, I have to say that by far it's the best phone I've owned. I love the screen size for media viewing (Hulu, Netflix, YouTube) and for gaming (I play a lot of games on my phone) - the battery lasts me where I would only have to charge it once a day which is good enough for me. I love how it doesn't have any lag and it doesn't get hot from doing any excessive work (like when I was setting it up, I barely noticed any warmth on the phone) and just how it does everything I need it to without any hiccups. I'm definitely sticking to this phone for a while- might even wait to upgrade til the Note 10 would come put if I would need an upgrade.
Actually the Treo 300. Other plusses on this phone are that it never gets warm and has MST, which is the best new practical technology in smartphones in years IMO.

Best Note I've ever had. Battery life is great for me. Loving picture in picture, I always have a movie on while I'm doing other things. My SD card is loaded up with movies. Im loving every little feature on the phone down to the phone app lol. I'm so glad I took a leap of faith and broke out of the apple ecosystem I was in with all my apple devices to get this phone. Apple ecosystem is great but I'm doing jyst fine using Airdroid on my Mac in place of imessage and everyone has facebook messenger for video calling and messaging right? So no worries here. Using chrome instead of safari to sync bookmarks and everything else with all my devices, so just because I have devices on different platforms doesn't mean I can't make em work together right?? For me there was no excuse not to buy this phone. It's the best phone in my opinion. I love it!

Thirty-one days today - extremely happy, and to think I was about to jump on an S8 Active instead of waiting for the Note 8 (Thanks for the constant urging Jewels)! There is nothing I dislike about the phone at this point - it's done everything I've asked of it! The battery performance is very good (coming from an S7 Active, that's all I can give it - 4000mAh was AWESOME). Having my S-Pen back is the best though, after having a Note 4, two Note 5s and two Note 7s, then waiting through the S7 Active for the Note 8 to arrive was tough! After hearing all of the complaints about the FPS, I never even tried to setup a finger print - I just went straight to the Iris Scanner, as that's what I used on my Note 7s very successfully. I'm very happy with it and not having any issues at night like I'm hearing from some folks? I guess that covers it... in short - LOVE IT!

I found it - I don't know why I never saw the "steal" or I would have said something then. You shouldn't have said you we're kidding. When you come up with an idea and original artwork it shouldn't be just free for the taking like that. BUT... it is the INTERNET!

Got my note 8 sep 11..loved it. Oct 15th I watched it stop charging right before my eyes! Nooooo..tried 3 different chargers, did a soft reset, tried charging in safe mode. Nothing. Took it to AT&T yesterday. They couldn't do anything..was there 2 hours while they accidentally claimed the warranty on the wrong phone # and it couldn't be changed. So now I am getting 2 phones sent to me. Will be sending the one back untouched.. And sending by beautiful broken brick back lol. It is totally dead with all my personal info on it. I'm not happy about that. Hopefully my battery issue was an isolated incident.

Thirty days in and I still absolutely love this phone. Very happy. Still cannot get over the battery life. Only one issue that I cannot seem to resolve. BT range. On my Note 7 and my S7e the BT range was much farther. I use BT a lot (Gear S3 and earbuds). Other than that very very pleased with my N8.

No problems at all, Great device. Battery lasts all day with mixed usage. On 65-70% at the end of the day.
