4.3 Update for Sprint Galaxy S3 has Arrived

so my phone tried updating but I forgot to remove TWRP and during reboot, didn't take. Ive tried forcing it, but gives me an error when I try manually installing the update.zip (renamed) or whatever the name is normally.zip, both fail. Guess I am waiting for another push

Mine finally came yesterday morning, Wednesday 18th. So far, no issues...good battery life, etc.

The OTA and official update.zip will only work on a completely stock phone. Stock recovery, all factory apps and carrier bloatware installed, no system level modes (like the camera sound fix). If you made any mods while rooted, you won't get the OTA to load.

Chicago area here - update just came through this AM a few hours ago. Surprised it took so long after it was released around a month ago according to the posts I see on here. Anyway, been using a few hours, same battery life (I use a gorilla battery anyway) and seems a little snappier than before update. No issues.

Groove, be very careful how you root this. Most of the root procedures for prior versions DO NOT WORK. The instructions in post #30 of this thread have proven to work for everyone who has tried them, as far as I am aware:

Thanks a lot for the heads up Meyerweb! Its a slow day here at work for me so I thankfully have the time to do this.

BTW, I didn't install the update but the constant nag is KILLING ME, lol!! I'm going to be using your easy install to root that I have DLed here somewhere. I know that I have to go into some folders once I have root in order to remove the nag.

Ok, I'm now rooted and update nag free! To everyone on the internet who has chimed in and let everyone know how bad 4.3 update was....you all saved me a TON of headaches and for that, I thank you all!

Now, I have to try to fix (root) my gf's S3 because she wasn't smart enough to call me and find out if she should install 4.3 update or not.....lol!! She is having a very bad experience with the 4.3 update as well. I'll be using Meyerweb's 'Possible method to root 4.3' for that sucker! Thanks Meyerweb!!

FINALLY!!! My OTA update arrived ~10 am today. I was beginning to get worried, esp. after my kids' two tablets received the update and I still didn't have it.

4.3 has been running ok, especially after I flashed a new firmware which brought back my 64 gb SD card. However, my biggest issue now is the screen rotation freeze. Happens about 2-3 times a week and requires a long press of the power button to reboot the phone. Any fix for this?

So last night, I decided to help my gf with her updated S3 to 4.3. It was freezing and locking up on her and she just hated it. I backed up her files and I factory resetted and surprise surprise.....its working as smooth as butter! Besides not being able and/or making it hard to root and install custom roms, what else is wrong with this update?? Are the people that have problems with it NOT done a clean install??
